December 24, 2021 01:59 AM

New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Gurpurab celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev at Gurudwara Lakhpat Sahib in Kutch district of Gujarat on December 25 via video conferencing, the government said on Friday.

Every year, from December 23 to 25, the Sikh Sangat of Gujarat celebrate Gurpurab at that gurudwara, the Prime Minister's Office said in a statement.

Guru Nanak stayed at Lakhpat during his travels. Gurudwara Lakhpat Sahib has his relics including wooden footwear and 'palkhi' (cradle) as well as manuscripts and markings scripts of Gurmukhi.

The Gurudwara was damaged during the 2001 earthquake. Modi, then the Gujarat Chief Minister, had ensured its repair.
