Have no remorse for comments against Gandhi: Kalicharan Maharaj

December 29, 2021 12:51 AM

New Delhi, A day after an FIRs was registered against religious leader Kalicharan Maharaj for making derogatory remarks against Mahatma Gandhi, a purported video of maharaj went viral in which he said he does not have any remorse for the comments.

“I have no remorse for my comments on Gandhi. What has Gandhi done for Hindus? He is the father of dynasty politics as he started Nehru-Gandhi politics, he is not the father of nation, at least I don't consider him that," he said in the video.

He further said, “If Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel would have been made Prime Minister of India at that time, India would have been a superpower in the world. But he was not made PM because of these people.”

"I salute Nathuram Godse...he sacrificed his life to save India," he added in the video.

Kalicharan Maharaj's derogatory remarks against Mahatma Gandhi drew sharp reactions, and an FIR was registered against him in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh.

The religious leader, at a 'Dharm Sansad' in Raipur of Chhattisgarh on Sunday, used profanities for the Father of the Nation, and saluted Nathuram Godse for murdering the leader.
