Many councilors, leaders from Sri Chamkaur Sahib, Sultanpur Lodhi and Ludhiana join AAP

Chandigarh: Impressed with the functioning of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab, various leaders and councilors are continuing to join the AAP ahead of the local bodies elections. During a press conference at Chandigarh party office on Saturday, more than a dozen Akali and Congress councilors from Sri Chamkaur Sahib, Sultanpur Lodhi and Ludhiana joined AAP.


AAP Punjab in-charge and MLA Jarnail Singh formally inducted the newly members into the party fold. This event was presided over by Punjab General Secretary Harchand Singh Barsat and on this occasion MLA Madan Lal Baga, Hardeep Mundian, Ashok Parashar, Gurpreet Gogi, Dr. Charanjit Singh Channi, Markfed Chairman Amandeep Singh Mohi and party chief spokesperson Malwinder Singh Kang were also present.


Among the councilors included are Paramjit Kaur from Chamkaur Sahib, Santosh Kumar, Kamlesh Rani, Gurmeet Singh, Bhupinder Singh, Sunita Rani Dhir from Sultanpur Lodhi, Rajiv Dhir, Sahnewal Manjinder Singh Bhola from Ludhiana, Sandeep Soni, Kulwinder Singh, Nirbhai Singh, Medical Association President. Vijay Puri, Lali Hara from Congress, Chanchal Mihas were prominent.


Raju Thapar, a three-time councilor from Ludhiana, who hails from the family of martyr Sukhdev Thapar, also joined AAP. Likewise, Councilors Baljinder Sandhu and Gurpreet Singh Bedi, Anti-Terrorist Front Punjab President Anil Sharma, Congress office bearers Channi Gill and Manpreet Singh Bunty also joined the AAP.


Speaking on the occasion, Jarnail Singh said that the Mann government is doing commendable work in Punjab. Councilors and leaders are continuously joining the Aam Aadmi Party after being impressed by the working style of the honest AAP government.


Welcoming the new members in the party, he reiterated that Mann government bad fulfilled most of its election promises so far and it will continue to work for the welfare of the common man to fulfil all the remaining poll promises and deliver a transparent government.
