CHANDIGARH The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, Shri Banwarilal Purohit extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people on Mahashivratri.
In his message, the Governor said “My greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. May the blessings of Lord Shiva bring happiness, peace and prosperity in the live of all”.
The Governor said that Mahashivaratri is the auspicious day of marriage of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. This day has great importance in Indian culture. He said that people of the entire Country including the State have been celebrating Shivratri with great enthusiasm since ancient times.
He wished that this festival of Mahashivratri would prove helpful in infusing new zeal and enthusiasm in the lives of the people of the country and state by strengthening mutual brotherhood. “Let us pray to Lord Shiva to bless us with wisdom and courage to overcome flaws within”, Banwarilal Purohit said.
