The leaders of the Joint Struggle Committee met the newly appointed Chief Engineer of Ranjit Sagar Dam Sher Singh and apprised him of the demands and difficulties of the dam employees. Disclosing this here today members of the committee said that Karamchari Dal Punjab R. S. D. Pathankot President Salwinder Singh Ladhupur said that promotions should be given to the employees who have been working in the same post for last 25-30 years.
In addition to the stalled promotions of landing firemen over the last few months, there was a discussion on the cleanliness and beauty of the colony, besides filling the shortage of clerical staff and senior assistants in the offices. After which Chief Engineer Sher Singh assured the leaders of the struggle committee that they would resolve all these issues in a coordinated manner and there would be no need for the organizations to stage dharnas.
