Cleveland : India's Sania Mirza and her American partner Christina McHale progressed to the semi-finals of the women’s doubles event at the Tennis In The Land WTA 250 Cleveland Championships, here.
Mirza and McHale beat Czech Republic's Hradecka and her Chinese partner Zhang 6-3 6-3 in one hour one minute in the quarterfinals on Thursday night.
The Indian-American pair won an impressive 79 per cent of their points with first serves, although they did commit five double faults compared to just one by Shuai and Hradecká.
Mirza and McHale will take on Ulrikke Eikeri of Norway and Catherine Harrison of the USA in the semi-finals. They are yet to drop a set in the Cleveland Championships.
