KURUKSHETRA: Kurukshetra University has topped all the State Universities of Haryana in filing 26 patents in the financial year 2022-2023. It is at number 3 among all the 54 state and private universities in Haryana in filing patents in 2022-2023. The data has been provided by the Indian Patent office, informed KU spokesperson Prof Brajesh Sawhney.
KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva said that KU also ranks above many IITs, NITs, Central Universities and AIIMS in patent filing in the financial year 2022-2023. “Research is the top priority of the university and we have taken a number of steps towards research, innovation, startups and incubation. We have appointed an honorary Professor of innovation and patent to facilitate filing of patents. KU bears all the cost of filing the patents by its faculty and researchers. We have also instituted Annual Best Research Award in seven categories to boost-research,” added Prof Som Nath.
KU has also excelled in sports and cultural competitions. We are at number 3 in MAKA trophy in sports in the country and at no. 7 in Khelo India games, added Prof Som Nath.
