Chandigarh: Taking on the Bhagwant Mann-led dispensation for its double speak on the issue of corruption, the Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar on Wednesday quipped that when it comes to taking action, the government only sees employees while tainted AAP former and sitting Cabinet Ministers enjoy state patronage and immunity.
"Former Cabinet Ministers removed on charges of graft take official meetings and sit with MLAs and police officers today," Jakhar stated.
Lambasting the state government for wilfully turning a blind eye to misdeeds of its own Ministers, the veteran leader said how it is possible that a land scam worth crores has taken place in Pathankot and there is not even an iota of scrutiny by the Administration.
The clean up must begin from home and AAP regime must take strictest action against its corrupt Ministers and leaders, Jakhar said adding that if anyone including an employee is found guilty action must be taken as per law.
In the same vein, law must also track down and reach the ultimate beneficiaries of an action by a corrupt government employee, Jakhar said referring to arrest of the BDPEO involved in the Pathankot scam.
There is no concrete action ever against AAP leaders found in violation of law, and the CM must come clean about what the enquiry report has said and what action, if any, has been taken against its Cabinet Ministers against whom serious allegations have been levelled, Jakhar said pointing out that serious allegations including those of impropriety have been levelled against sitting AAP Cabinet Ministers but it seems it is par for the course in this government.
Reminding the CM of his Constitutional duty, Jakhar said the people of Punjab today stare at an administrative vaccum and all they are getting from this inept dispensation is mesh of self appreciation, boasts and fake propaganda. Our Anndatas are waiting for the compensation while the state government keeps obfuscating the people with false advertising to satisfy their hunger for self praise, Jakhar said.
Punjab needs responsible leadership, Jakhar said underlining that no Punjabi would ever make the mistake of choosing such an inefficient, callous and out of sync with reality leadership. 2024 will show AAP it's real place, in Punjab as well as across the nation, Jakhar said.
