Chandigarh:In the meeting of the High Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) and High Power Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC) held under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal here today, approval was granted for the contracts and purchase of various items worth more than Rs 2500 crore. The negotiations with different bidders during the meeting resulted in savings of approximately Rs 22 crore by setting competitive rates.
The meeting was attended by Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Sh JP Dalal, Energy Minister Sh Ranjit Singh, Urban Local Bodies Minister Dr. Kamal Gupta, Development and Panchayats Minister Sh Devendra Singh Babli and Minister of State for Labor Sh Anoop Dhanak.
In the meeting of High Power Purchase Committee, 12 agendas of various departments including Police, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (HVPNL), Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN), Transport, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Urban Local Bodies Department and 23 agendas in High Power Works Purchase were presented, with the majority receiving committee approval.
A state-of-the-art 100-bed hospital will soon be ready in Tohana of Fatehabad district. The upcoming facility is poised to enhance healthcare services not only for Tohana residents but also for those in the surrounding areas. During today's meeting, a construction contract totaling approximately Rs 49 crore was approved for the timely realization of this significant health infrastructure project.
In addition, the meeting gave the green signal for the purchase of 52 six-seater buses and 34 thirty-two seater mini-buses by the police department. Furthermore, the proposal to procure 55 police troop carriers received approval. In addition, a significant approval was granted for the procurement of materials amounting to Rs 343 crore, dedicated to engineering works for the Development and Panchayat, Public Works Department, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board and other relevant departments.
In the meeting, contracts worth more than Rs 350 crore were approved for various works related to the construction of International Convention Center in Sector-78 of Faridabad district. About Rs 122 crore in respect of construction of flyover on Railway Road from Khalsa Chowk to Haryana Nursing Home and Valmiki Chowk to Ambedkar Chowk in Karnal under Karnal Smart City Mission was given. Besides, a contract worth about Rs 12 crore was approved for the construction work of State Library Building in Sector-5 of District Panchkula.
