Haryana unveils 'Mission Karma Yogi Haryana' initiative

Chandigarh: Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya, in his address during the ongoing budget session in the Vidhan Sabha, said that the current state government has launched a unique initiative called “Mission Karma Yogi Haryana” to imbibe ethical values and principles among more than 3 lakh officers and employees of the state. Under this, 2,23,869 officers and employees have been trained so far.

 

Addressing the members, the Governor also mentioned the government's endeavor to establish a common cadre, referred to as Group-D, to ensure equal promotion opportunities for employees.


Additionally, the state government has introduced an extensive cashless health facility scheme effective from January 1, 2024, benefiting all government employees.


Moreover, under the Ayush Reimbursement Policy, expenses incurred on Ayush treatment will be reimbursed to government employees, pensioners, and their dependents.


He said that Women government employees with disabilities are given a special allowance of Rs 1500 per child for child care. The honorarium for Anganwadi workers, Mini Anganwadi workers, and Anganwadi helpers has been increased to Rs. 14000, Rs. 12500, and Rs. 7500, respectively.


The honorarium for watchmen has been raised to Rs. 11,000 per month, along with a uniform allowance of Rs. 4000 per year. They are also entitled to a bicycle allowance of Rs. 3500.

The annual uniform allowance for rural sanitation workers has been increased from Rs. 3500 to Rs. 4000. They will also receive a penalty of Rs. 500 for delayed payment.


The Governor said that the state government has implemented the “Chief Minister Haryana Employees Accident Insurance Scheme,” under which a financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakh is provided to the family members or relatives of Group-C and D government employees in case of death or disability at the workplace.

 

In the event of the death or disability of a sanitation worker, an economic assistance of Rs. 5 lakh is provided to their dependents. In addition, the “Online Transfer Policy” has been formulated for teachers, which other states in the country are also emulating.


We take pride in the invaluable contributions of Haryana's heroes who have steadfastly defended our nation's borders. In recognition of their sacrifices, the State Government has implemented the ‘Compassionate Appointment Policy, 2023,’ enabling the compassionate appointment of eligible family members of Haryana resident soldiers of the Defence Forces and Central Para Military Forces who were declared battle casualties.


To date, 369 dependents of martyred soldiers from the defence and paramilitary forces have been provided employment on compassionate grounds under the current government's tenure, he added.


Bandaru Dattatraya said that state government has established the Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department for welfare of ex-servicemen of defence forces and para-military forces.


The ex-gratia amount for causality of defence and central paramilitary personnel has been increased from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh. Even in the event of martyrdom due to I.E.D. blasts, the ex-gratia amount has been raised to Rs 50 lakh. Furthermore, the exgratia grant for defence and central paramilitary forces personnel injured/disabled during battle, terrorism, and other incidents has been increased to Rs 15 lakh, Rs 25 lakh, and Rs 35 lakh, depending on the level of disability.
