First batch of Training under “PM Vishwakarma Scheme” at Govt Industrial Training Institute, Sec 11, Chandigar

CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh Skill Development Mission under the ageis of Directorate of Technical Education, UT Chandigarh launched its First batch of Training under “PM Vishwakarma Scheme” at Govt Industrial Training Institute, Sec 11, Chandigarh on 07.03.2024 in the “Tailor- Trade(Darzi)”.  During this, Zero day assessment was organized for the Candidates.  Basic training will be organized for all these Candidates for Five days in which they will be trained on many tools including Entrepreneurship, New Technology and Marketing so that our Vishwakarmas can empower and contribute to a developed India.

 

The Department of Industries, co-jointly with the Department of Skill Development is implementing the PM Vishwakarma Scheme in Chandigarh.  Enrollment of beneficiaries is conducted through Common Service centres at No cost. This is a fully-funded scheme by the Central Government and facilitates free Registration of Vishwakarmas (Artisans) through common service centers using the Biometric-based PM Vishwakarma Portal.

 

Additionally, the Government will offer special training to Vishwakarma partners and provide them with Rs. 500 during the training period. They will receive a PM Vishwakarma Certificate and identity card, basic and advanced skill upgrading training, a toolkit incentive of Rs. 15,000, and a Daily Allowance of Rs. 500.  Furthermore, they will be eligible for collateral/loan assistance up to Rs. 1.00 lakh initially and subsequently up to Rs. 2.00 lakh after advanced training at a concessional interest rate. Recognition will also be extended through free loan assistance, incentives for digital transactions, and marketing assistance.
