Ahead of Lok Sabha Elections, 1813 liquor bottles seized in Fazilka, without permit

Fazilka : In two separate cases, the Fazilka police have recovered 1813 liquor bottles from three vehicles being transported without any required permits.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 and according to the instructions of the Election Commission, strict vigilance is being maintained by the district police to thwart every attempt to influence the election process through drugs and alcohol in the district, said Pragya Jain, SSP.

The police team under the supervision of SP(H) Ramnish Kumar made this recovery in two separate cases from three vehicles.


SSP said the efforts are being made sincerely by the police to prevent money, force and drugs in the elections. He said that under the supervision of DSP Fazilka Subeg Singh, the police have achieved great success and this liquor has been recovered by the police. They said that these liquor vehicles did not have the required permits.

Elaborating on the recovery, Om Prakash, SHO said, it was verified by the Excise Department that the liquor loaded in this canter does not have the required documents.
