Madhya Pradesh: Girls outshine boys in class 10th, 12th state board exam

Bhopal : Girls outperformed boys in the class 10th and class 12th Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MP board) examinations whose results were announced on Wednesday.

 

According to the official data, 61.88 per cent girls and 54.35 per cent boys passed in class 10 while 68.43 per cent girls and 60.55 boys were declared pass in class 12 state board exams.



"Results of 821086 regular candidates of class 10th were declared. Of these, 305067 candidates passed in first division, 169863 candidates in second division and 2145 candidates in third division. With this, 477075 candidates have cleared the 10th board examination and passing percentage stood at 58.10 per cent," the statement read.

 

Anushka Agarwal became the state topper with 495 marks out of 500 in Class 10th. Three girls Rekha Rebari, Ishimata Tomar and Sneha Patel stood at second position with 493 marks and Saurabh Singh secured the third position with 492 marks in the state.

 


On the other hand, the results of 623341 regular candidates of class 12th were declared. Of these, 292799 candidates passed in first division, 109268 candidates in second division and 422 candidates in third division. With this, a total of 402489 candidates have passed in the examination and passing percentage stood at 64.49 per cent, the statement added.


Anshika Mishra becomes the state topper in Science-Maths group with 493 marks out of 500 followed by Ankit Chaubey at second position with 491 marks and Geeta Lodhi at third position with 490 marks.

 

In Science-Biology group, Sana Anjum Khan is state topper with 487 marks out of 500 while Preksha Rajput stood at second place with 486 marks and Mehar Qureshi at third position with 485 marks.

 

In the Commerce group, Muskan Dangi emerged as state topper by securing 493 marks out of 500. Three girls Garima Jain, Gauri Jaiswal and Diya Kotwani, secured the second position with 482 marks and Falguni Pawar stood at third position with 481 marks in the state.

 

In the Humanities group, Jayant Yadav topped the state with 487 marks out of 500 followed by Kuldeep Mewada at second position with 486 marks and Nisha Bharti stood at third position with 484 marks in the state.


Meanwhile, among the unsuccessful students, 100391 candidates were declared eligible for supplementary exams in class 10th while 88369 regular candidates in Class 12th were eligible for the supplementary exams.

 

The supplementary examination for class 12 will be conducted on June 8 and for class 12 it will be held from June 10.
