40% subsidy being given on setting up biogas plants in cowsheds: ADC

Karnal: Additional Deputy Commissioner Akhil Pilani said that Institutional Biogas Plant Scheme has been started by government to promote biogas during year 2023-24. Under this scheme, 40 percent subsidy is being given on the cost of the biogas plant and institutions including poultry farms, own dairy and cowshed can avail the benefits of the scheme. Application can be made till July 5, 2024 to avail benefits.

ADC said that under this scheme, dung from 70 to 80 animals is required for 25 cubic meters, 100 to 110 for 35 cubic meters, 125 to 140 for 45 cubic meters, 175 to 180 for 60 cubic meters and 250 to 270 for 85 cubic meters. Keeping in mind its requirement, government has invited applications for setting up biogas plants in cow shelters, charitable institutions, poultry farms, commercial and personal dairies.
