Rs 100 crore approved for the development works of the PMDA

Chandigarh: CM Nayab Singhwhile chairing a key meeting of the PMDA held here today has directed officers to provide information on the villages that have been included in municipal corporations and the funds transferred to these corporations, so that the amount can be spent on the development works of the respective villages. The CM approved Rs. 100 crore to PMDA as part of the 2024-25 budget announcements.


The CM also directed the officers to expedite the transfer process of all HSVP properties to metropolitan development authorities. It was informed in the meeting that the authorities would mainly undertake new development works in the dividing roads of sectors, parks, sewage, stormwater drainage, drinking water, and the extended areas of the city. The construction and repair of roads within the sectors will be carried out by the HSVP and Urban Local Bodies.


The Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority will carry out major development works worth Rs. 156.58 crore during 2024-2025. The blueprint for this has been prepared. A world-class shooting range will be constructed in Sector 32, with an expenditure of Rs. 13.75 crore. The authority also approved Rs. 175 crore budget for the Metropolitan Development Authority.
