Chandigarh: After 105 kilograms of heroin was recovered from a Congress leader, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab's senior spokesperson Neel Garg stated that they have always said that the previous Akali-BJP and Congress governments promoted drugs and provided political shelter to the drug mafia. He called the latest incident extremely shocking.
Neel Garg said that these same political parties question, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed he would soon eliminate drugs from Punjab, why drugs have not been eradicated yet. He pointed out that evidence is now before everyone that the government is making continuous efforts, while leaders from these parties are themselves involved in spreading drugs.
He affirmed that the Mann government is committed to eradicating drugs from Punjab. No matter how big a drug trafficker may be or how much political influence they have, the government will take action against them and send them to jail. He mentioned that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s efforts are proving successful, and better results will be seen in the near future. He also urged the people of Punjab to support the government's campaign against drugs.
Neel Garg stated that the Akali-BJP and Congress parties should apologize to the people of Punjab for sheltering drug traffickers. Their failure has led to the youth of Punjab falling victim to drug addiction.
