New Delhi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Sunday held “warm and fruitful discussions” with his Serbian counterpart Nikola Selaković and both sides agreed to take forward their long-standing cooperation, especially on the economic side.
This was informed in tweets by EAM Jaishankar following his meeting with the Serbian Foreign Minister, who is in India on a two-day visit.
“Warm and fruitful discussions with Serbian FM Nikola Selaković.
“Reaffirmed our strong political bonds and independent stance in global politics.
“Agreed to take forward our long-standing cooperation, especially on the economic side,” Jaishankar tweeted.
Earlier, while welcoming him before the talks, he said: “Taking a strong, traditional friendship forward.”
The Serbian Foreign Minister, who arrived on Sunday morning, will on Monday hold a meeting with Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi.
He is also to deliver a talk on India-Serbia relations at the Indian Council for World Affairs, after which he will call on Vice President Venkaiah Naidu.
