Union Health Minister to inaugurate 3rd-year celebration of AB PM-JAY, to interact with beneficiaries

New Delhi, The National Health Authority (NHA) will hold Arogya Manthan 3.0 to observe the third anniversary of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) from September 23-25, the authority said on Wednesday.

The theme chosen this year is 'Service & Excellence’. The event will conclude with the rollout of Pradhan Mantri Digital Health Mission (PM-DHM) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 27, it added.

A four-day hybrid (physical and virtual) event, will will be inaugurated by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday, September 23, 2021, which is also being observed as ‘Ayushman Bharat Diwas,' the NHA informed.

The minister will also interact with AB PM-JAY beneficiaries from various States and UTs. He would also release the third edition of NHA’s Annual Report 2020-2021 and Lessons Learnt Booklet, it added.

An award ceremony is also scheduled in the event where the best performing AB PM-JAY States/ UTs in implementation of the scheme will be awarded.

Meanwhile, Mandaviya is also set to launch key initiatives such as Hospital Help Desk Kiosk, Beneficiary Facilitation Agency, PM-JAY Command Centre & Nudge Unit and Revamped PM-JAY technology platform.

Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY was launched on 23rd September 2018 from Ranchi by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with the vision to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).

The Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme aims to provide free and cashless healthcare services up to Rs 5 lacs per family per year, for secondary and tertiary care hospitalizations to over 10.74 crore poor and vulnerable families (over 54 crore beneficiaries) as per Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC)-2011 database. At present, PM-JAY is functional in 33 States/ Union Territories of the country.

According to the NHA, the scheme has so far authorised more than two crore treatments worth Rs. 26,400 crores through a network of over 24,000 empanelled hospitals, both government and private across the country.
