Amritsar:Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina took pot-shots on Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu for avoiding jail following the verdict of the Supreme Court, sentencing him to rigorous one year jail in a 34 years old road-rage case. He said instead of looking for excuses Sidhu must submit to the law and surrender before the authorities.

Sidhu, he said, was looking for pretexts to avoid the jails without realizing the ordeal of the aggrieved family of Gurnam Singh which waited for more than three decades to seek justice. “The justice has finally been delivered to the family whose lone bread earner perished in the incident in which Sidhu was prime accused”, said he in a statement issued here.

Chhina who had been an arch rival and critic of Sidhu said while both were in the BJP said Sidhu wanted to surrender yesterday after the verdict was announced but today his health suddenly got worse. “He is finding excuses now and instead of offering himself to the jail authorities he is avoiding going behind bars as per the sentence of the apex court”, said Chhina.

He even targeted him for following `politics sans any commitment and principals’. He is targeting one political opponent now and in the next round praising the same. He called former PM Dr.Manmohan Singh as `Pappu’ and later showered praises on him. He used to shower praise at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and later targeted him with filthy  language. Where are your principals”, asked Chhina.
