Chief Magistrate and Secretary District Legal Services Authority Karnal Jasbir inspected the District Jail Karnal on Tuesday. She inquired in detail about the problems faced by the prisoners and said that if anyone wants to participate in the cultural activity, they should get their names written which will be taught by the cultural artist. She said that Jail Lok Adalat will be organised on 13th October 2021 in which if someone wants to confess his crime then he should write his name and details of his case so that in the coming Jail Lok Adalat as per the rules, cognizance can be taken in his case. The CJM also explained in detail about the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi to all the prisoners. All the prisoners appreciated the cultural program and legal awareness program organized on this day.
The CJM informed that such programmes are organised from time to time by the District Legal Services Authority so that the prisoners can be given detailed knowledge about free legal aid. She said that the prisoners who do not have an advocate, should send their applications from the District Legal Services Authority through the Superintendent District Prison. In this regard, orders were given to the jail superintendent to immediately send their applications to the District Legal Services Authority so that they would be provided with an advocate from the panel.
