Bilaspur: BJP State Chief Spokesperson Randhir Sharma, while addressing a press conference in Bilaspur, said that India’s transformation over the last 11 years under the decisive and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been unprecedented. He remarked that India is no longer a passive spectator on the global stage but a formidable power that responds with strength and conviction when challenged. Citing the example of air strikes and Operation Sindoor in retaliation to terrorist attacks, he said India now replies to a brick with a stone — marking a shift from silence to strength in national defense.
Randhir Sharma highlighted the contrast between the governance of the UPA and the Modi government. He recalled that the decade before 2014 was marked by rampant corruption, scams, and policy paralysis. However, the 2014 mandate proved to be a turning point for India, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi ushering in an era of bold reforms and inclusive development.
Under Modi’s leadership, India has surged from being the 11th largest economy to the 4th, he said. Whether it is in infrastructure, with rapid four-lane highway expansion and new airports, or in defense, where India has transitioned from a major importer to an exporter of weapons — the progress is visible and measurable.
Sharma further added that the Modi government’s focus on rural upliftment and grassroots development has significantly improved the quality of life for millions. Himachal Pradesh too has benefited enormously, with over 11.74 lakh people under Ayushman Bharat, 3.5 lakh women under Ujjwala Yojana, and 1.3 lakh houses built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the state.
BJP District President Krishna Chandel, Sonam Sharma, Sudesh Thakur and other senior leaders were present during the press briefing.
