Mohali In a major breakthrough, Mohali Police raided a hotel and busted a gambling racket operating from the premises. During the raid, police recovered Rs. 25.30 lakh in cash, 19 mobile phones, playing cards, notebooks, seven cars, and an Activa scooter.
Sharing details in a press conference, Mohali SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans said that the action was taken following a tip-off about illegal gambling and fraudulent activities.Acting on the information, the police conducted a raid at the hotel where gambling using playing cards was underway.
A total of 14 individuals were arrested on the spot, and a preliminary investigation has begun. Police are now probing how long this gambling operation had been running and identifying other individuals possibly involved.
Further investigation is underway, and more arrests are likely as the case progresses.
