An encroachment removal campaign was carried out by PWD and Municipality Radaur on SK Road. With the help of JCB, the sheds installed by the shopkeepers outside the shops were removed. SI Nirmal Singh, BI Aditya, Ramzan Khan, Sanjeev Saini from NAPA and JE Ishant Sharma from PWD were present on the spot along with their teams. Heavy police force was also present at the spot to deal with any untoward incident. There was anger among the local shopkeepers regarding this action taken by the administration. Shopkeepers say that while discrimination was done during the action, no notices were given to the shopkeepers by the department before taking action due to which the shopkeepers did not get a chance to collect their goods.
Based on the complaints given on the CM window, this action was taken by the department in which the team of MC and PWD department took action. The shopkeepers were first informed through announcement and were also given time.
