Chandigarh : Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has expressed deep condolences on the sudden demise of former Gujarat Chief Minister and Punjab BJP in-charge, Sh. Vijay Rupani. Terming his death in a plane crash in Ahmedabad as an irreparable loss to the nation, the Chief Minister said that Sh. Rupani's contributions to public service and the Bharatiya Janata Party will always be remembered.
He was speaking at a condolence meeting held today at Ambedkar Bhawan in Chandigarh. Haryana Governor Sh. Bandaru Dattatreya, BJP State President Sh. Mohan Lal Kaushik, and other dignitaries were also present at the gathering to pay their respects.
In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said that the demise of Sh. Vijay Rupani is a profound shock to all of us. His entire life was devoted to the ideals of Indian culture, nationalism, and selfless service. He was a true Karmayogi, a thoughtful leader, and a symbol of deep emotional connection with the people. With his passing, the nation has lost a public figure who served the organization, governance, and society with unwavering dedication and integrity.
The Chief Minister said that Sh. Vijay Rupani ji’s ideology was deeply rooted in the core values of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party. His political journey was firmly based on the four pillars of patriotism, transparency, good governance, and public service. A staunch proponent of strong nationalist ideals, he remained closely connected to the cultural ethos of India . Sh. Vijay Rupani was humble, hardworking, and deeply committed to the party's ideology. He held several key responsibilities within the organization and served with dedication as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. During his tenure, he took many impactful decisions that accelerated the state’s development particularly in enhancing the ease of living for its citizens.
The Chief Minister said that Sh. Vijay Rupani served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for two terms, from 7 August 2016 to 11 September 2021, after being elected from the Rajkot West constituency. At the time of his passing, he was serving as the in-charge of Punjab BJP. He also played a significant role in guiding the organizational expansion of the BJP in Haryana. He visited Haryana on several occasions, where he motivated party workers to uphold organizational discipline and a spirit of selfless service. His values, memories, and ideology will continue to inspire us. By walking the path of public service and nation-building that he laid out, we can pay him the highest tribute, he added.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini paid tribute to the departed soul and prayed to God to grant him peace and to give strength to his family to bear this irreparable loss.
