Barnala DC takes stock of procurement arrangements

Deputy Commissioner Kumar Saurabh Raj today visited the main grain mandi in Barnala and reviewed the procurement arrangements there.
Disclosing this here today, the Deputy Commissioner said that today PUNSUP agency procured 20 metric tonnes of paddy. He said that there were 98 grain mandis and 47 temporary mandis in the district. He said that so far 212 metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the farmers to bring the paddy in the mandis as per the norms set by the government regarding moisture so that they do not have to face any kind of difficulty. He directed the officials of Food and Civil Supplies Department to see that the farmers did not face any problem during procurement.

He also reviewed the arrangements at Handiaya Anaj Mandi and Ghunnas Anaj Mandi. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Amit Banbi, District Food and Civil Supplies Officer Sweety Devgan, District Mandi Officer Jaspal Singh and other officials were present on the occasion.

DC inspects facilities at bus stand

Deputy Commissioner Kumar Saurabh Raj today made a surprise visit to the bus stand in Barnala and inspected the facilities for the passengers. On the occasion, the DC\directed the concerned officers to ensure the provision of fan, electricity and water besides maintaining cleanliness at the bus stand.
