Manjinder Sirsa serves legal notice to Aman Arora over defamation allegations

July 11, 2025 12:52 PM

Chandigarh: Manjinder Singh Sirsa, a three-time MLA from the Delhi Legislative Assembly and current Minister for Industries, Food, and Supplies in the Delhi Government, has served a legal notice to Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora for allegedly making defamatory statements linking him to gangsters and criminals.

The legal notice, issued by Advocate Yoginder Handoo, accuses Aman Arora of delivering “false, malicious, scandalous, and defamatory” statements during a press interaction on July 10, 2025, and later amplifying them through his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle. The notice quotes multiple remarks allegedly made by Arora, such as:

“Jis tarike se Manjinder Singh Sirsa ne un gangstaro ke haq mein nara maara hai, unke haq mein utre hain… aur wo log jo Shri Sanjay Verma ji ki nirmam hatya ke liye zimmedar hain, unke haq mein Manjinder Singh Sirsa ka utra clearly darshata hai…”

The notice claims that these statements have damaged Sirsa’s longstanding unblemished reputation and led to public backlash and dissociation from his supporters.

Sirsa’s legal counsel has demanded that Aman Arora:

  • Immediately cease and desist from making any further defamatory statements
  • Tender a public and written apology on all social media platforms within 24 hours
  • Withdraw all defamatory content posted online

Failure to comply, the notice warns, will result in legal proceedings at Arora’s own risk and cost.
