Chandigarh : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann once again launched a pointed attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning the intent and impact of his frequent foreign visits.
Speaking on Friday, Mann said, “I criticized Modi yesterday, and I’m doing it again today. Someone has to speak the truth.”
He urged the Prime Minister to focus on solving the problems of India’s 140 crore citizens instead of visiting obscure countries. “PM Modi is touring nations that most people haven’t even heard of. What are we gaining from these visits?” he asked.
Mann went further, questioning the nature of international honors being conferred on the Prime Minister. “Why is he receiving the highest civilian awards from these countries? What’s their actual population? Are we not allowed to ask where and why our Prime Minister is traveling?” he said.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Indian citizens have the democratic right to question the foreign policy and priorities of their elected leaders. “We are citizens of this country. We have every right to ask where our Prime Minister goes, why he goes, and what benefits India receives in return,” he concluded.
