Chandigarh : Punjab ministers Harjot Singh Bains, Harbhajan Singh ETO, and Punjab Tourism Advisor Deepak Bali addressed the media today, unveiling the state government's elaborate plans to commemorate the 350th Parkash Purab of the Ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
Cabinet Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced that the state will celebrate the historic event with grandeur from November 19 to 25. The celebrations will begin with a special yatra flagged off by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann from Srinagar on November 19. Simultaneously, separate yatras will commence from the Majha, Malwa, and Doaba regions of Punjab.
All these yatras will converge at Anandpur Sahib, the main venue of the week-long celebrations. The Punjab Government expects over 1 crore devotees to arrive at Anandpur Sahib during the celebrations.
To enhance the spiritual atmosphere, lighting and sound shows will be organized across all 23 districts of the state. Additionally, seminars will be conducted in universities to highlight the life and legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
As part of infrastructure development, Anandpur Sahib will be transformed into a “White City”, and a Tent City will be set up to accommodate the visiting devotees.
The Punjab Government is coordinating with the governments of Haryana, Delhi, and Jammu & Kashmir for smooth arrangements. Today, leaders of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee also met Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to discuss cooperation in the successful organization of the event.
