UNA; The Una district administration has issued strict directives to reinforce law and order across the region. Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that no individual involved in unlawful activities or attempts to disrupt peace will be spared. He instructed the police to keep a close watch on miscreants and troublemakers, particularly those entering from border areas, and to take swift and strict action against any violations.
He was chairing a meeting convened on Thursday to review the district's law and order situation. Superintendent of Police Amit Yadav and senior officials from the administration and police departments were present.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that maintaining law and order and ensuring a safe environment for the public remain top priorities of the administration. He stressed that there will be no compromise at any level, and violations of peace and order will be dealt with firmly.
DC Lal announced that a seven to eight-member quick response team will be formed to strengthen monitoring. The team will conduct round-the-clock patrolling on highways and sensitive areas and respond immediately to any suspicious activities.
He also directed a comprehensive review of all weapon licences issued in the district. Each station in-charge will submit a detailed report, and licences held by individuals involved in land disputes or related complaints will be suspended, with weapons seized. He added that displaying weapons on social media or waving them publicly will attract strict punitive action.
The police have been instructed to conduct intensive checking of vehicles entering and leaving the border areas. Random inspection drives will be carried out, and the police presence on the roads will be strengthened to maintain area dominance.
The Deputy Commissioner further ordered action against unauthorised liquor vends and directed police and excise officials to conduct joint inspections. Violations will invite immediate action.
To curb illegal mining, Lal instructed heightened surveillance and the establishment of checkpoints on routes used by tippers. CCTV-based monitoring will also be strengthened, with a modern surveillance system worth ₹6–8 crore being installed across the district.
