Chandigarh On the auspicious occasion of the grand inauguration of the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra, Defence Minister Sh. Rajnath Singh said the Haryana Pavilion is a mirror of Haryanvi culture. He stated that the pavilion showcases the state’s rich folk arts and cultural heritage. Through the Haryana Pavilion, Kurukshetra University is making a commendable contribution towards the promotion and preservation of Haryanvi culture. The officials of Kurukshetra University deserve appreciation for this remarkable effort.
Defence Minister Sh. Rajnath Singh was speaking after inaugurating the Haryana Pavilion, set up at Purushottampura Bagh on the sacred banks of Brahma Sarovar under the joint aegis of Kurukshetra University and the Kurukshetra Development Board. Prior to this, the Defence Minister, Cabinet Minister Sh. Anil Vij, Cabinet Minister Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, Gita scholar Swami Gyananand Maharaj, MP Sh. Naveen Jindal, and former Minister of State Sh. Subhash Sudha visited the Haryana Pavilion and formally inaugurated it.
During the event, Defence Minister Sh. Rajnath Singh was honoured with a traditional Haryanvi turban, symbolizing the pride and heritage of Haryana. On this occasion, all the guests inspected the various stalls displayed in the pavilion. The pavilion, through its artworks and artistic showcases, presents the rich folk traditions and ancient cultural heritage of Haryana.
