BILASPUR: Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, has invited applications from qualified non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to operate Shakti Sadan in Bilaspur district. Providing the information, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar stated that registered NGOs working in the field of social welfare can submit their applications in the prescribed format, along with all required documents, to the office of the District Child Development Project Officer or the District Program Officer by the end of December.
Deputy Commissioner said that Shakti Sadan is a crucial initiative aimed at providing shelter, protection, counseling, rehabilitation, and essential support services to women in need. Therefore, only organizations with proven experience in social service, strong institutional capacity, and efficient service delivery systems will be considered.
He further stated that NGOs applying for the operation of Shakti Sadan must be registered on the NITI Aayog’s DARPAN portal, and their registration should be duly verified by the State’s Administrative Secretary.
Additionally, NGOs that have received or applied to receive foreign contributions must strictly comply with all provisions of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA), 2010. The organization must also ensure that there is no duplication of grants and that funds are not received from multiple government sources for the same purpose.
DC Rahul Kumar emphasized that Shakti Sadan will play a vital role in empowering women and providing them with a safe and supportive environment. He urged capable NGOs to come forward and contribute to this important social welfare initiative.
