Workers Spread Awareness on AIDS at Jagatkhana

Bilaspur: — On the occasion of World AIDS Day, a special awareness program was organized in Jagatkhana under the joint aegis of the Indian Red Cross Society, District Branch Bilaspur, and Afcons Infrastructure Limited. The initiative aimed to educate workers about HIV/AIDS prevention, early detection, and the importance of awareness in curbing social stigma.
Addressing the gathering, Secretary Red Cross Society, Amit Kumar sensitized workers employed in tunnel construction about the causes, symptoms, preventive measures, and common myths related to HIV/AIDS. He emphasized that awareness and compassion are the strongest tools in eradicating the misconceptions surrounding the disease.

To make the message more engaging, Jagmohan Negi conducted a magic show that creatively conveyed messages about AIDS prevention and other social issues. The interactive performance proved highly effective in capturing attention and ensuring understanding among the workers.

Adding to the day’s activities, , Ophthalmologist Dr. Sudesh carried out eye examinations for all participating workers and provided necessary medical advice. The event also included a symbolic gesture of tying red ribbons, representing solidarity in the fight against AIDS.

All participants took an oath to remain alert, spread awareness, and work toward creating an informed society free from prejudice and misinformation.

Present on the occasion were RVNL Project Director Anurag, Afcons Infrastructure Limited Project Manager Sandeep Sharma, HR & Admin In-charge Santosh Kumar, Safety In-charge P. Santokumar, and around 60 workers, who pledged to continue promoting awareness through responsible action and mutual support.
