DHARAMSHALA; On the fifth day of the winter session of the Legislative Assembly in Dharamshala, the opposition strongly demanded the withdrawal of the Job Trainee Policy. Leader of the Opposition Jairam Thakur launched a scathing attack on the government, saying that the state government has forgotten its own guarantees.Jairam Thakur said that the Congress government had promised 500,000 jobs during the elections, but these guarantees have not yet been fulfilled. He alleged that unemployed youth are forced to take to the streets to remind them of the guarantees, while the government is watching. He said that approximately 10,000 outsourced employees have been laid off. Meanwhile, the Staff Selection Commission, Hamirpur, has not been able to initiate the recruitment process despite being reorganized in the last three years. Jairam Thakur claimed that all the jobs provided during the current government's three-year tenure are based on posts created during the BJP government's tenure, for which the budget and procedures had already been completed. The Leader of the Opposition also questioned the government's new job training policy. He stated that this system of employing young people for two years and then re-testing them is unfair to them and should be immediately withdrawn. He alleged widespread irregularities in outsourced recruitment. He even alleged that "companies are being created in the names of the sons of government leaders and jobs are being distributed through the back door," which warrants serious investigation. Continued protests and sloganeering by the opposition disrupted proceedings in the House for some time.
