Bilaspur: In a heartwarming gesture of appreciation, various non-governmental organizations of Bilaspur today honored Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar, Superintendent of Police Sandeep Dhawal, SDM Sadar Dr. Rajdeep Singh Khera, District Welfare Officer R.C. Bansal, and District Red Cross Society Secretary Amit Kumar at the Savings Building. The honors were presented by Advocate Prakash Chand Bansal on behalf of the NGOs, acknowledging the administration’s efforts in creating a meaningful platform for the disabled and elderly during the "Jal Tarang Josh Mahotsav 2025".
Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar, while expressing gratitude for the recognition, said that the district administration, together with the District Red Cross Society, made dedicated efforts to ensure that the festival was not just about entertainment but also about social inclusion and community participation. He said that alongside the water sports events, a Red Cross Fair was organized to give space and visibility to the youth, specially-abled individuals, and senior citizens.
He highlighted that several key activities—including a health check-up camp, theme-based fashion show, and various fun and recreational competitions—were held to boost confidence and bring smiles to the faces of elderly citizens and persons with disabilities. He added that the enthusiastic participation of these groups proved that with the right environment and encouragement, every individual can shine.
The Deputy Commissioner thanked all NGOs for their unwavering support, saying that their cooperation played a crucial role in the success of the festival. He assured that the administration will continue organizing such inclusive events in the future so that marginalized groups, especially the disabled and elderly, receive opportunities to participate, showcase their talents, and feel integrated into society.
This collective gesture by the district’s NGOs underscored a powerful message—that progress is most meaningful when every section of society moves forward together.
