Strict laws against the drug mafia, properties to be sealed: Sukhvinder Singh

DHARAMSHALA: State Chief Minister Sukh inder Singh Sukhu made a major statement in the Assembly premises today, stating that his government is determined to uproot the drug mafia. The Chief Minister appealed to journalists, the public, and all political parties to join forces in the fight against drug abuse and also announced the organization of a marathon against drug abuse. Addressing journalists at the Tapovan Assembly, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that the government's action against drug abuse is being continuously intensified. He explained that the Congress government has further tightened the law to directly target drug abusers. The government has arrested several individuals involved in the drug network and sealed their properties, thus breaking the economic backbone of the drug mafia. The Chief Minister announced that a "Marathon Against Drugs" will now be organized in the Assembly premises in collaboration with local leaders, so that this campaign can become a mass movement. He said, "We are determined to uproot the Chitta mafia and ensure that the law is tightened. Those involved have been arrested, and their properties have been sealed." He added, "I appeal to society, journalists, and all political parties: let's stand together in this fight."
