Shimla: The Annual Rajbhasha Award Distribution Ceremony and Half-Yearly Meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (NARAKAS), Shimla (Office-2), constituted under the chairmanship of SJVN Limited, was organized today at the SJVN Limited premises. Present on the occasion were Shri Chandra Shekhar Yadav, Executive Director (HR), Shri Kumar Pal Sharma, Joint Director (Implementation), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and Shri Ashish Pant, General Manager (Rajbhasha), SJVN Limited.
During the meeting, member offices were honored with the NARAKAS Rajbhasha Shield for their excellent performance in the implementation of the Official Language. These awards were presented by Shri Chandra Shekhar Yadav, Executive Director (HR). Based on the number of participating offices, the awards were categorized into three groups: Government Offices & Financial Institutions, Public Sector Undertakings, and Banks. Each category included First, Second, Third, and two Consolation Prizes.
The first prizes were awarded to SJVN Limited, Life Insurance Corporation of India, and Punjab National Bank. The second prizes were received by REC, Himalayan Forest Research Institute, and Central Bank of India. The third prizes were given to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Indane), Regional Provident Fund Commissioner’s Office, and UCO Bank. Consolation prizes were presented to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (Retail Division), Chief General Manager (Telecom), New India Insurance Company, Central Public Works Department, Reserve Bank of India, and Union Bank.
On this occasion, Shri Chandra Shekhar Yadav, Executive Director (HR), SJVN, also released the fourth issue of the Rajbhasha in-house magazine ‘Himsamvad’. The objective of the magazine is to promote creativity and literary interest among member offices, along with furthering the propagation of Official Language Hindi. The entire responsibility for the publication of this magazine has been undertaken by SJVN Limited.
In his address, the Chief Guest, Executive Director (HR) Shri Chandra Shekhar Yadav, remarked that all member offices are performing commendable work in their respective offices and should continue to maintain this pace while making every effort to conduct maximum official work in Hindi. Heads of member offices of NARAKAS and senior officials of SJVN were present on the occasion.
