SAS Nagar: As a part of the ongoing initiative of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, “Youth Against Drugs”, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar organized an awareness seminar at Universal Group of Institutions, Lalru.
Ms. Surabhi Prashar, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar educated the students regarding ill effects and consequences of use of drug and sensitized them that they must keep themselves away from this menace being vulnerable group to these kind of bad vices.
She further informed that the campaign“Youth Against Drugs” shall be carried out from 06.12.2025 to 06.01.2026 to reach the nook and corner of every village/town which is affected by drug addiction.
The object of the campaign is to sensitize youth, parents, communities about the dangers of drug abuse and to promote awareness about legal consequences and rehabilitation support. During the campaign, rallies, walkathons, workshops and seminars in collaboration with panel Lawyer, Para-Legal Volunteer,Local Administration, Health and Education departments shall be organized.
Competition like declamation, debates, poster making, chart making shall be held in the Schools and colleges to create awareness amongst the students as to drug abuse. Besides, Nukkar Nataks shall be performed to educate the individuals regarding ill effects and consequences of use of drug. The individuals struggling with drug abuse shall be arranged counseling session and free legal aid shall be provided to them.
