Panipat- (Ashok Chugh)--Under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Bhupendra Singh, the campaigns launched from time to time in the year 2025 by the district police to nab illegal weapons and criminals have yielded fruitful results. In the year 2025, 63 cases under the Arms Act were registered and 87 accused were arrested. 62 illegal country-made pistols, 24 live rounds and two magazines were recovered from them. Along with arresting the accused along with illegal weapons, the police have also succeeded in breaking the supply chain of weapons compared to the year 2024, 92 cases were registered under the Arms Act and 131 accused were arrested and 82 illegal country-made pistols, 19 live rounds and one magazine were recovered from them.
As a result of this campaign, there was a decrease in the use of weapons in robbery and snatching incidents in 2025 compared to 2024. In 2024, weapons were used in 19 robbery and snatching cases. In 2025, illegal weapons were used in 10 robbery and snatching cases.
Compared to 2024, there was a decrease in the use of weapons in murder cases in 2025. Weapons were used in 10 murder cases in 2024. In 2025, illegal weapons were used in nine murder cases. He stated that public cooperation was essential to keeping the district crime-free and peaceful. The public is the eyes and ears of the police. Only with information from them can the police curb crime. District residents have consistently provided full support to the police, resulting in the police's success in preventing major incidents and gang wars in the district.
