Indian Bank joins hands with Haryana Govt for Mobile Phone Distribution

KARNAL: Government of Haryana, in collaboration with Indian Bank, launched the Mega Mobile Phone Distribution campaign through e-₹upi today (1st July 2022). As a concrete step towards Digital India Mission of the Government of India, providing mobile phones to the lambardars by the state government is being facilitated via e-₹upi, a digital payment system.

 

Under this arrangement, e-₹upi coupons will be provided by Indian Bank to all the beneficiaries through SMS or QR-code on the mobile numbers of Lambardars. This e-coupon can be redeemed without any credit or debit card, mobile app or internet and shall enable the holder to get the mobile phone for the eligible amount from the designated vendor. Indian Bank has signed an MoU with Government of Haryana and as part of the rollout, Mobile Distribution Melas shall be organized at various districts of the state and distribution of mobile phones shall be facilitated.

 

The programme was flagged off by Shri. Anoop Dhanak, Hon'ble Minister of State, Revenue and Disaster Management in the presence of Shri. Imran Amin Siddiqui, Executive Director, Indian Bank. Shri Siddiqui emphasized Indian Bank’s commitment to not just serve as an active partner in the digitization journey of the state of Haryana but also extend its services in implementation of other Government-sponsored schemes in the state.
