New Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear on July 11 a fresh plea by the Uddhav faction against the Speaker’s decision on the new party whip along with the pending ones. The Uddhav Thackeray faction had moved the Supreme Court against the order of new Maharashtra Speaker recognising the new party whip of rebel Shiv Sena MLAs led by the CM.
Senior advocate AM Singhvi mentioned the petition challenging the Assembly Speaker's decision. "The new Speaker has recognised a new whip of the Shiv Sena. This is contrary to the order of this court. Whip is something the party nominates, not the legislature party,” Singhvi told a Bench led by Justice Indira Banerjee.
The Bench posted the matter for July 11 before the Bench that had earlier heard the matter.
