Chandigarh; Ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, AICC has appointed senior Congress leader from Nabha, Chandreshwar Singh Mohi, as the Working Chairman of the Scheduled Castes Department, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC). Mohi, who previously served as Member of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission (2021–2024), has worked extensively for the welfare and empowerment of the Scheduled Castes community across Punjab. He is the son of former MLA Dr. Satwant Singh Mohi.
The appointment has been made in recognition of his long-standing commitment, organisational work, and contribution towards strengthening the party.
He said “My priority will be to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots, work for the welfare and empowerment of the Scheduled Castes community, and ensure that the Congress Party’s message reaches every household across Punjab.”
