"Strengthening at booth level": Rahul Gandhi to interact with TN Congress leaders on final day of training camp

Chennai : Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, arrived in Chennai on Saturday, with senior state Congress leaders, cadres, and state ministers gathered at the airport to receive him. The Congress leader is visiting to participate in the concluding session of a 10-day training camp for Tamil Nadu Congress District Presidents being held in Mahabalipuram.


Speaking to news agency, Tamil Nadu Minister and Congress leader S Rajesh Kumar stated that the visit aims to boost the party's grassroots presence. On this occasion, Rahul Gandhi is visiting to interact with the district presidents and discuss ways to strengthen the party. The focus will be on building the party at the village level and booth level," Rajesh Kumar said.


The Minister emphasised that the discussions will cover a wide range of organisational and electoral strategies. "Discussions will also cover the party's growth, the upcoming local body elections and Parliamentary elections, strategies to take the party to the grassroots, address people's issues effectively, and ensure that government welfare schemes reach the public," he added.


According to Rajesh Kumar, these training modules are a standard post-election practice for the party across the country. "Training camps like this are conducted in every state after elections, with around seven participants from each unit. These camps last for ten days, and it has been Rahul Gandhi's practice to participate in them. During his visit, he will address the participants," the leader noted. State Minister P Viswanathan and other senior functionaries were also present at the airport to welcome the Congress MP.
