Karnal: Sacred Kalash Vandan Yatra which began from Seer Govardhanpur, birthplace of Saint Guru Ravidas Maharaj in Kashi, arrived in Karnal on Wednesday to commemorate 650th birth anniversary of Saint Guru Ravidas Maharaj. A large number of devotees including Mayor Renu Bala Gupta welcomed Yatra and paid their respects at feet of Saint Ravidas Maharaj at event held at Shri Krishna Temple.Mayor said that life of Saint Guru Ravidas Maharaj is a source of inspiration for humanity, equality, social harmony and selfless service.
His pure, calm and sacred words, "Prabhu Ji Tum Chandan Hum Pani, Jaki Ang-Ang Baas Samani," convey message of love, devotion and harmony to society.Mayor said that Saint Ravidas, through his thoughts and actions, proved that a person's identity is not determined by caste or birth, but by their actions, character and spirit of service. His teachings still inspire society to move forward unitedly.
She said that Kalash Vandan Yatra is sending strong message of social unity, national spirit and creation of harmonious society.MLA Jagmohan Anand said that Saint Ravidas Maharaj showed society path of equality and brotherhood.
