Public service is paramount; Officers must resolve public grievances in a transparent and time-bound manner while treating citizens with dignity- Education Minister

Chandigarh Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda on Friday said that serving the public is the foremost responsibility of every government officer and employee. He directed all officers to discharge their duties with honesty, transparency and sensitivity while ensuring respectful treatment of citizens visiting government offices. He said the administration's objective is to provide timely justice and relief instead of making people visit government offices repeatedly.

 

Chairing the monthly meeting of the District Public Grievances and Redressal Committee at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat in Sonipat, the Minister reviewed 16 grievances of various departments. Of these, eight complaints were resolved on the spot, providing immediate relief to the complainants, while necessary directions were issued to the concerned departments for the remaining eight cases after seeking detailed information.

 

To ensure expeditious disposal of pending grievances, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda constituted five committees under the chairmanship of MLAs.

 

The Minister said the Haryana Government is committed to the principles of good governance, transparency and accountability. He said the Government's objective is to ensure simple, accessible and time-bound delivery of public services. He urged officers of all departments to accord the highest priority to grievance redressal and work with dedication to strengthen public confidence in the administration.

 

Rai MLA, Smt. Krishna Gahlawat, Sonipat MLA, Sh. Nikhil Madan, Kharkhoda MLA, Sh. Pawan Kharkhoda, Commissioner of Police, Smt. Mamta Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Smt. Neha Singh, Municipal Commissioner, Sh. Harshit Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Ajay Chopra, and other senior officers also remained present on the occasion.
