July 21, 2022 11:33 AM

New Delhi : CyanConnode Holdings plc, a world leader in Narrowband Radio Frequency (RF) Smart Mesh Networks, is pleased to announce that over 1 Million Smart Meters in the country are currently communicating on its RF network. CyanConnode’s RF communication network is delivering over 99% SLA, which is amongst the highest in the country.

CyanConnode is the largest private player in India providing RF Communication solutions for AMI infrastructure. Headquartered in Cambridge, UK, CyanConnode is a leading global IoT specialist of intelligent communications solutions, bringing together narrowband RF mesh and cellular technologies along with Head End System to create a highly scalable platform for transmission, collection, and analysis of Smart Meter data. CyanConnode’s RF Smart Mesh Networks are designed for rapid deployment, while giving exceptional performance and competitive total cost of ownership. CyanConnode has been active in India since 2009 and executed its first project in the year 2014. CyanConnode has deployed its RF communication infrastructure for Smart Meters in 9 states (Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Assam) in the country and has a current orderbook of 1.6 Million RF nodes.

John Cronin, Executive Chairman of CyanConnode, commented:

“We are proud to announce that over 1 million smart meters in India are communicating on CyanConnode’s RF network, which is approximately 22% of the total installed base of Smart meters in India. We take great pride in and responsibility for consistently high Service Level Agreements (SLAs) of >99%, which are now a base requirement for Smart Prepaid metering and which the Government of India has been pushing for. CyanConnode also has a solution for every requirement such as long range RF for remote locations, a hybrid of RF and Cellular and our core RF solution through our unique Omnimesh technology.”

Indore’s smart metering project, which is running on CyanConnode’s Omnimesh RF communication network, became a case study that was later adopted by many other DISCOMs across the country. The project was a triumph for the Indore DISCOM who achieved a return on investment in only two and a half years. In addition, CyanConnode has been deploying its Omnimesh RF communication network in terrains of Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. It has achieved a range of 4.2 KMs through regular RF nodes in Shimla, reemphasizing that its Omnimesh architecture is the best solution for Smart Metering in India with best possible coverage of dense, hilly, agricultural & semi-urban areas while delivering the desired SLAs.
