Lehragaga: Punjab Cabinet Minister Barinder Kumar Goyal distributed property cards to 1,027 families across three villages in the Lehragaga Assembly constituency under the ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam’ scheme. Addressing gatherings at Chural Khurd, Ghorenab and Bhaike Pishour, he said that receiving documentary proof of ownership of their homes was a moment of reassurance and pride for the families. He reiterated that the Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, was committed to ensuring that people received their rightful entitlements.

The Cabinet Minister said that property cards had been handed over to 263 families in Chural Khurd, 376 in Ghorenab and 388 in Bhaike Pishour for their residential properties. He said a key objective of the scheme was to provide documentary recognition of ownership to families who had long been residing in houses within the Lal Lakir boundaries of villages.

Goyal said it was essential to maintain clear ownership records for homes associated with generations of family memories, hard work and emotional bonds. He noted that several families had faced difficulties due to the lack of formal ownership documents despite having lived in their homes for decades. Providing property cards under the ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam’ scheme was giving such families a documentary basis for establishing the identity and ownership of their properties.

He further said that clear property records were also important for the future of these families. These documents could help reduce uncertainty regarding ownership and serve as supporting records in property-related matters. They could also assist families in applying for loans, subject to the applicable terms and conditions of banks and other financial institutions.

The Cabinet Minister said the Punjab Government was working to ensure that people did not face unnecessary inconvenience in accessing government services or obtaining documents relating to their entitlements. He asked officials to complete the remaining work under the scheme transparently and within the stipulated timelines, while providing residents with the necessary information and guidance.

Congratulating the beneficiary families, Goyal said the government was working to address issues affecting people’s everyday lives by understanding their needs. He assured them that the process of providing property cards to eligible families in the remaining villages of the constituency would also be taken forward.

Villagers who received property cards thanked the Punjab Government and the Cabinet Minister, saying that obtaining ownership documents for their homes had brought considerable reassurance to their families.

Officials from the administration and the Revenue Department, sarpanches and panches of the respective villages, other panchayat representatives and local residents attended the events.
