Covid: HP reports six deaths, 125 new cases, 99 recoveries in last 24 hrs

Hamirpur (HP), Six aged people, three from Kangra district, two from Hamirpur district, and one from Mandi district lost their lives due to the dreaded Coronavirus on Monday, said a spokesman of the HP Health Department on Tuesday.

He told UNI today that in all 8,248 samples that were tested in the state out of which only 125 were found infected. He said that Kangra district led the table with 61 cases, followed by Hamirpur 27 cases and thirteen in Una district.

Those found positive included eleven school-going students, ten from Kangra and one from Hamirpur district respectively.

The spokesman said that the number of active cases rose to 1,113 and the total number of confirmed cases stood at 2, 25,893.

Similarly, the number of cured cases also rose to 2, 20,959.

He said that the number of total fatalities has also risen to 3,804 with death cases on the rise in the state during the last two months.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases in Hamirpur district was recorded at 222 on Monday. Two aged people also lost their lives and the number of total deaths rose to 298.

An official spokesman said that the number of total confirmed cases in the district stood at 17,719 and that of cured cases at 17,198.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Debasweta Banik and other senior revenue officers including SDM’s visited their respective areas on Monday where gram sabha meetings were held and told them to work for the mass vaccination drive in their areas so that the target fixed for the district was fixed much ahead of the deadline of November 30th.

On other hand, CMO, Hamirpur, Dr. RK Agnihotri said that the work of mass vaccination was going on at full speed in all parts of the district so as to contain the dreaded Coronavirus from spreading further.
