Congress tells Kejriwal to give Rs 1000 to every woman in Delhi

New Delhi, Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar Chaudhary on Monday took a dig at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, after the latter vowed to transfer Rs 1,000 per month in the bank account of every woman over 18 years of age in Punjab if AAP is voted to power in the upcoming Assembly elections and termed it as a "hollow" promise.

Kejriwal, who is the national convenor of AAP, made this announcement while addressing an election rally at Moga in poll-bound Punjab.

"CM Arvind Kejriwal has been touring Punjab and telling lies like he would deposit Rs 1,000 in the bank account of every woman over 18 years in Punjab. He should first give Rs 1,000 to every woman over 18 years in Delhi before making such promises in other states," said Chaudhary, attacking Kejriwal.

"The manner in which Kejriwal treats women is evident from the fact that no woman has been included in his Cabinet, though there are several women MLAs in AAP," he added.

The Congress leader also accused Kejriwal and his Cabinet colleagues, including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, of making "hollow" promises whenever they visit the states going to Assembly polls next year.
