Chandigarh,  The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the results of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2022 examination conducted on July 17 were declared on Thursday. Arpit Narang of Zirakpur (Mohali) has topped Punjab with 710 marks out of 720 as All India rank as seventh. This year around 18.72 lakh students appeared in the examination. A student of Chaitanya Institute over the last four years has attributed this achievement to the right guidance and commitment of his teachers besides his mother and late father. Arpit, who has lost his father in recent years, recalled the hardships faced by his mother on this achievement and the faith placed in him by the teachers of Sri Chaitanya Institute.

Arpit, who was aiming to become a doctor, said that when he was in 10th standard, he lost his father in the year 2019 due to some medical complications. He did not want to take this incident as a 'setback' but as a 'challenge' to recover his father’s absence in the family followed by a prideful career ahead. His studies were badly affected due to Covid 19, but the guidance given by Sri Chaitanya was enough for him to face that difficult time.

Arpit's mother Preeti Narang, working in a pharma company, said that Arpit's love for medicine was from childhood when accompany his grandmother to her office working in PGI. He derived inspiration from doctors while talking to them. But after the shocking demise of his father, that inspiration turned into an objective now resulting in the Punjab topper and All India Rank 7.

Arpit is a three-time gold medalist in the National Science Olympiad and International Mathematics Olympiad apart from being a scholar of Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana and a state level chess player.
