CBI files case against Customs Inspector in disproportionate assets case

New Delhi, The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday filed a case against an Inspector of Customs posted at the Customs Preventive Force (CPF) at Moreh in Manipur for possession of alleged disproportionate assets.

The agency said in a statement here that a case was registered against the Customs Inspector, identified as Seikholen Kipgen, for possession of alleged disproportionate assets of Rs 2.25 crore, which is expected 433.30 per cent against income.

Kipgen had allegedly acquired huge assets during the period of January, 2015 to October, 2021, both movable and immovable, worth Rs 2.60 crore.

Searches were conducted on Friday at the premises of the accused at Moreh and Kangpokpi, which led to recovery of documents related to purchase of the land, Bank Accounts in the name of the accused and his wife, luxurious household articles and other incriminating documents, added the statement.
